Intro to Sewing-Weekly Kids Class-Wednesdays from 5:30-7

This class is great for children who are wanting to learn how to use a sewing machine. In this class, students will gain experience in threading a machine, taping together a patten, cutting out project pieces, pinning, following pattern instructions and sewing their projects. Sewing is a great way to build confidence, practice patience, and is a great way to exercise their creativity. Ages 8-13

We will meet on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7PM. This session is open to both homeschool children and students with early out Wednesdays. This class runs from September-May with breaks for Christmas/New Years, and spring break. 

Term 1: September 9th-November 18th (There will be no class on Wednesday, October 14th for conferences.)

Term 2: January 6th-March 3rd (No classes on March 10th for conferences.) 

Term 3: March 24th-May 26th

A discounted rate is available for families that commit to the whole school year. *NEW THIS YEAR: a payment plan is available upon request. *

We will follow Southeast Polk's school calendar and will cancel classes due to weather if there is a closure for the school district. Classes missed due to a weather closure will be available for make-up. Classes missed by students for sick days will not be available to make up. 

***Fabric is not provided for these classes*** A supply list will be emailed after signup or please feel free to message me with any questions ahead of time. 

Students will also participate in a volunteer project in the fall and in the spring. (This will be done during one of our class sessions.) Volunteer projects will be chosen by Miss Ashley, and fabrics for these projects will be provided. Some examples of these projects are sewing mittens and hats to send to shelters, making beds for ARL animals, blankets for NICU babies, etc. This is a fabulous opportunity for your child to learn the importance of giving back. 

By registering for a class, the participant acknowledges and agrees that all tuition, registration fees, and associated charges are final and non-refundable. No refunds or credits will be issued for participant cancellations, absences, or withdrawals, except where required by law or in the event of a cancellation by Sparkle and Stitch Studio.
