Do you have a child in grades 6-12 that is interested in learning how to sew but don't have the time in the evenings? We are happy to be offering an early morning sewing class on those late start Wednesdays to encourage your child to grow a love for sewing.
Open to grades 6-12-NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS ARE WELCOME
Returning students will receive and email with projects and supplies to choose from. Classes begin on Wednesday, September 9th and will be held weekly from 8-9 AM. You may enroll for the whole school year or just for a term. This is not a drop-in class. At this time, transportation to school is not available, but I am open for discussion if it were a conflict.
Payments may be made all up front or in three increments. Space is limited to 6 students.
There will be NO sewing on the following dates: October 14th, November 25th, December 23 and 30, March 10 and 17. Our last class will be on Wednesday, May 26th.
Fabrics are NOT provided. Please see the supply list and fabric requirements below.
*Pillowcase: 3/4 yard of a main print and 1/4 yard of a coordinating solid color. (100% cotton or flannel)
*Reading Pillow: 3/4 yard of a main print, and 1/2 yard of coordinating color (100% cotton is best for this)
*Tote Bag: 3/4 yard of a main print, and 1/2 yard of a coordinating solid for the lining (100% cotton recommended)
*Hooded blanket: 1.5 yards of a main print, 1.5 yards of a lining. (Fleece would be best)
*Zipper Pouch/Pencil Case: 1/4 yard of main print, 1/4 yard lining color, 9" all-purpose zipper (100% cotton recommended)
*PJ pants: 2 yards of fleece OR 3 yards of flannel. (IF THE PRINT IS DIRECTIONAL, YOU WILL NEED MORE. Please reach out prior to purchasing fabrics if you are unsure.)
*Cord Keepers: We will use scraps from other projects for these
*Bowl Buddy: 1/2 yard of 100% quilt cotton
*Tablet/Phone Stand: 1/3 yard of quilting cotton or flannel (scraps from previous projects will also work for this)
*Air pod Keychain: 2 Fat Quarters and a 7" all-purpose zipper
*Classic Hoodie: 1.5-2 yards of fleece (please do not purchase this material yet)
*Apron- (2) 1-yard cuts of a quilting cotton
*Neck Pillow-1/2 yard of a solid color flannel
